Ruby Lee Lowenstein (they/them) is a writer and actor based in Brooklyn, NY. They have a BA in Drama and Literature from Bennington College. Their play Salt Off a Bird’s Tail premiered at Bennington in 2021. In 2022, they founded the queer Yiddish theater collective, GLYK, where they made their creative home as a dedicated producer, director, writer, and actor for a year before stepping away to fight cancer (2023) and beat it (2024). A monologue from their play Cyclops In Love can be found in the anthology, We/Us: Monologues for the Gender Minority. Readings of their plays have been staged by Morristown Jewish Center (2021), GLYK Kolektiv (2024), and Acme Theatre Company (2025). They have held internships at the New Yiddish Rep, Puppet Showplace Theater, and Poetry Flash: Literary Review & Calendar for the West. In their free time, they enjoy practicing the art of Aikido and spending time with the people they love.
